About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Care Specialist

Hours per Shift : 8 hours (14 : 45 - 23 : 15) / 12 hours (14 : 45 - 03 : 15)
Experience : 3 years preferred
License : State license preferred before start date
Certifications : ACLS, BLS, CRT, RRT preferred
Must-Have :
Description :
NE state license in hand preferred.
Licensing may take 6-8 weeks.
Start date will be adjusted accordingly.
ACLS and BLS required.
CRT required, RRT preferred.
Three years of experience preferred.
Out of the three years required, at least one year must be in a large (>
500 Bed) Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center.
Previous charge experience is not applicable.
Must have experience with patient ratio.
Required charting system experience.
Experience with trauma level I is required.
Experience at a community hospital and LTAC is not required.
Travel experience required.
Skills required include Adult Critical Care, BiPAP, CPAP, Emergency Department, Extubation, Flow-by, Heated, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
Candidates must be skilled in interpreting Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), oral airway placement, oral / nasal suctioning, tracheostomy care / management, troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
All contracts must end on a Sunday.
The work week runs from Monday to Sunday.
Routine drug screening includes checking for nicotine, with immediate contract termination if use is suspected.
Nebraska Respiratory Licenses are taking up to 8 weeks to issue.
All applicants must apply for the license at the time of submission.
Must provide proof of application within 48 hours.
Requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission.
Any RTO post-confirmation may be denied.
Medical surgical nursing units allow up to two weeks of RTO.
No RTO is permitted during the first week.
Travelers must attend a mandatory charting class during orientation week.
Mandatory scrubs are required for all staff.
Weekend shifts consist of four out of eight possible in a four-week period.
Documentation compliance deadlines are strictly enforced.
All notes and compliance must adhere to specified timelines.
Contract end dates are strictly on Sundays.
