POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Field Services Specialist is responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring IT equipment, and ensuring optimal system performance. This role requires strong technical skills, customer service excellence, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
On-Site Support : Travel to client or internal locations to provide hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.Installation & Configuration : Set up desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and network hardware (routers, switches, access points).Telecom : Basic installation and troubleshooting of Avaya phones.Maintenance & Upgrades : Perform preventive maintenance, software updates, and system upgrades.Diagnostics & Repairs : Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware / software malfunctions.User Support & Training : Assist end-users with technical issues, provide training on systems and applications.Network Support : Assist in basic network troubleshooting, cabling, and connectivity issues.Documentation : Maintain accurate records of work performed, asset inventory, and service reports.Collaboration : Work closely with the IT Service Desk, infrastructure teams, and vendors for escalations.Compliance & Security : Follow company IT policies, data security guidelines, and compliance requirements.EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
Education : Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience : 1–3 years in IT support, field services, or a similar role.Certifications (Preferred) : CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or equivalent.SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS :
Technical Skills :Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and / or Linux environments.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and remote desktop tools.Basic networking knowledge (TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS).Printer, scanner, and peripheral troubleshooting.Soft Skills : Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.Work Environment :Travel : Frequent travel to client or office locations within assigned region.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
Schedule : May require after-hours or weekend work for urgent issues or installations.
