Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran-owned IT and engineering services firm based in Herndon, VA, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with at least six years of experience in network architecture, deployment, and support. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to contribute to innovative, mission-driven technology solutions across government and enterprise environments.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred)Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in network engineering, design, and operationsCore Technical Expertise
Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience and proficiency in the following areas :
Network architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise or large-scale environmentsCore network technologies :Routing protocols : EIGRP, BGP, ISIS
Switching protocols : STP, LACP, VTPNetwork automation and scripting for configuration and managementCloud networking environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google CloudSoftware-defined networking (SD-WAN) solutionsKnowledge of deploying and supporting MPLS networksCommunication & Documentation Skills
Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team membersSkilled in producing technical documentation , including design diagrams, implementation plans, and operational proceduresComfortable presenting technical designs to review boards and leadership teamsProfessional Traits
Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issuesProven ability to learn and implement new technologies independentlySelf-motivated, independent learner with a commitment to technical excellencePreferred Qualifications
