Shift : Days, Monday - Friday
Immediate opening for Paraprofessional |Paraprofessional Long-Term Substitute Teacher at Woodridge Interventions.
As a Paraprofessional |Paraprofessional Long-Term Substitute Teacher, you will : Assist teachers with the implementation of identified Individual Education Plans and lesson plans, step in as substitute teacher as needed. You will help students in learning subject(s) in a manner that, will lead to the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth.
Must have :
- Valid Paraprofessional Certification and / or valid Substitute Teacher License in Illinois.

Direct Duties :
Ensures Compliance, with Educational Requirements
Provides instructional support services to students in the classroomAssists teachers with preparing lesson plans and managing various classroom activitiesIs knowledgeable of student requirements, IEP's and Behavioral Support Plans for implementationAssists in the tracking and recording of student grades, records and assignmentsUnderstands individual student learning differences and characteristics to consider when supporting studentsAssists Special Education / Teachers with Classroom Instruction
Assist with the development of classroom agendas and track follow-up items when neededAssists with the implementation of JEP instructional guidelines for studentsProvides tutoring as needed for GED students and those students identified as needingAssists in evaluating student progress and performance in the classroomAssists with classroom instruction / monitoring and group formationDirect Care Responsibilities
Provides direct care supervision of clients as needed and ensures program safety and people security is in place at all timesDemonstrates appropriate and effective use of Safe Crisis Management trainingSupports and implements company philosophy and mission in promoting the Seven Key Principles of CareCommunicates effectively using various internal systems effectively. Ensures regular communication, with peers, supervisors, customers and clients is professional at all times Maintains confidentiality of information related to clientsPerforms other duties as assigned to support educational programming and facility policyImplements and mentors' employees regarding the company’s policies on professional expectations, code of conduct and other practices and procedures, serves as a role model for clients and employees and supports the company’s mission, goals and objectives.Maintains Safety & Security of Clients & Facility.Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.Other Qualifications :
At least twenty-one (21) years of ageDriver's LicensePhysical exam that includes TB and drug testing.Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and / or personal reference and driving records.Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.Why Should You Consider Abraxas?
