Maintenance / Grounds Technician I

Job Title

This position is located at our State Veterans Home located in Collins, MS. First-level vocational position accountable for performing various basic manual tasks that can be learned with short on the job training (e.g., picks up and bags litter, moves materials from one location to another). Tasks performed require use of basic hand tools and operation of small, equipment (e.g., mowers, string trimmers, or light fleet such as Utility Terrain Vehicles). At this level, tasks are assigned or work is very routine. This position is Time-Limited and classified as Non-State.

Fundamental knowledge in the maintenance field. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
