Job description

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with general accounting operations and regulations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and performing and managing the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The following duties and competencies are essential for success in this role :

  • In-depth knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles
  • Timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversight of A / R processes, including customer correspondence, collections, recording of deposits, statement generation, and various reporting for Management.
  • Oversight of A / P processes, including auditing AP invoice entries and supplier set ups, reconciliations to statements, supplier correspondence and Treasury Management to include issuing checks and ACH and wire transfers
  • Completion of bank reconciliations
  • Maintenance and tracking of fixed assets
  • Maintenance and tracking of sales tax
  • Recording and reconciling credit card activities.
  • Participation in financial and other accounting-related audits
  • Support in other accounting functions as assigned

Requirements

  • Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger Activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort large amounts of data (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc) :
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar organization)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and work independently
  • Team-oriented, with a willingness to assist in other departmental areas when needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Experience in the automotive industry preferred but not required

    70,000 - $75,000 / year
