Responsibilities Work in a Neuro ICU unit of a short-term acute care hospital Primary patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, neuromuscular disorders, CNS infections, neurotrauma, and post-thrombectomy / tPA care Patient ratio is typically 1 : 2 Required to work every other weekend Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 30) Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including within the hospital and affiliate hospitals Specialized procedures include vasoactive medications, central and arterial line management, ICP monitoring, CRRT, hypothermia / hyperthermia management, and spinal precautions Uses Epic EMR system with prior Epic experience required Uses specialized equipment such as EVDs and bolts for ICP monitoring No on-call requirements Main responsibilities include management of complex neurological and critically ill patients Must be able to manage advanced neuro interventions, including ICP and hemodynamic monitoring Night shift staff receive free parking; day / night rotation requires a monthly parking fee Navy blue scrubs are required Position is at a Magnet-designated, academic teaching, Level I Trauma Center Permanent former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Standard travelers can remain for up to 18 months, with a required 3-month break after Limited to no more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract and no time off granted the first week Will complete required orientation modules and stroke education during onboarding Requirements Active MO or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU or critical care experience Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Must pass Relias EKG exam demonstrating dysrhythmia management skills Experience with Epic EMR documentation required Completion of 10 hours stroke education required (some credit via NIHSS / ACLS possible during orientation) Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from facility (no local candidates) First-time travelers will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640586.
