Occupational Therapy Assistant
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapy Assistant is a qualified professional person who provides Occupational Therapy services to patients as prescribed by the attending physician. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.

Experience
1 Year Occupational Therapy Assistant - Preferred
License & Certification
Professional License with State of Practice - Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
Core Job Functions
- Completes all required documentation according to Agency policies and procedures. Collaborates with all personnel through patient Team Conference to identify, clarify and respond to the needs of the patient.
- Assists patient and families to understand, accept and follow medical recommendations and provide service planned to restore patients to optimum social and health adjustment within their capacity. Displays a caring manner to all personal contact and willingly assists other staff members and patient requests. Demonstrates ability to work effectively with variety of age groups and disabilities.
- Follows plan of care developed by Occupational Therapist. Revises the occupational therapy Plan of Care that is consistent with medical and nursing diagnosis. Notifies Occupational Therapist and medical personnel immediately of patient status and potential problems or situations.
- Information recorded accurately and legibly on appropriate forms or in computer devices. Assessment, implementation, resolution, planned goals and nursing care are documented.
- Maintains contacts with physicians, nurse, case manager, or administrator to keep all members of team informed of patient status. Assists with Quality Assessment activities as assigned by supervisor.
