DevSecOps Engineer – NATO Innovation Hub Location :

  • Norfolk, Virginia Type :  Full-Time, On-Site Role Overview NATO’s Innovation Hub (iHub) in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking a skilled DevSecOps Engineer to support secure, reliable, and scalable digital development in defense contexts.
  • This role focuses on integrating security into every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) while enhancing the efficiency and reliability of NATO’s digital platforms.
  • As a DevSecOps Engineer, you’ll implement and manage a security-first DevOps framework, supporting NATO’s mission by developing automated security solutions that align with NATO’s high-security standards.

Key Responsibilities End-to-End Security Integration :

  • Implement security measures throughout the SDLC, including threat modeling, code reviews, and vulnerability assessments, while supporting automated testing and secure code deployment.

    • Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

  • Develop and maintain automated CI / CD pipelines that incorporate security checks at every stage, ensuring rapid, secure, and compliant software deployment.

    • Monitoring & Response :

  • Manage security monitoring tools, responding swiftly to incidents and adapting defenses based on real-time data.
  • Develop incident response plans to address potential threats.

    • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams :

  • Work closely with NATO’s developers, IT, and cybersecurity teams to integrate secure coding practices and support the continuous improvement of security protocols.

    • Documentation & Compliance :

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security measures and configurations, ensuring compliance with NATO standards and enhancing system resilience.

    • Qualifications Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker), programming languages (Python, Bash), and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify).

    • Experience :

  • 5+ years in DevSecOps or related roles within secure, multinational, or defense environments.
  • Experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform) and security monitoring solutions is highly desirable.

    • Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP) are a plus.
