Electrical Wiring Interconnect (EWIS) Engineer

WORK LOCATION :  San Luis Obispo, CA SALARY RANGE :  $115,000 - $152,000 FLSA STATUS :  Exempt    SUMMARY  We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Electrical Engineer to join our team, with a focus on wire harness design and schematic creation. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical system design, creating technical drawings, and producing high-quality documentation for manufacturing. This mid-level role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with production and engineering teams to ensure harness designs meet project requirements. Experience with uncrewed systems (UAS) is preferred but not required.    RESPONSIBILITIES  The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

• Design and develop detailed wire harness drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Create and maintain documentation packages, including wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and specifications to support production and assembly.
• Select appropriate materials and components, considering cost, reliability, and performance in line with design requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and systems engineering, to ensure seamless integration of harness designs into overall system architecture.
• Support troubleshooting and issue resolution for wire harness-related technical challenges during prototyping and production phases.
• Conduct design reviews and provide input on manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of wire harnesses.
• Assist with the testing and validation of wire harness assemblies, ensuring compliance with performance and durability standards.
