Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a critical care unit in New York requiring stroke education and floating flexibility.

Responsibilities

Work in a 10-bed Critical Care Intensive Care Unit

RN to patient ratio is 1 : 2

Rare pediatric cases may be seen

Must be willing to float to Med Surg units as needed

Shifts are 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM or 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM

Uses Allscripts, Paragon, and McKesson charting systems

Experience with vents, drips, arterial lines, central lines, codes, vapotherm, and V60 bipaps is required

Proctored EKG exam on Day 1

Charge responsibilities may be required

Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment

Must be willing to float to Med Surg units as needed

Charge assignment may be required depending on staffing and experience

Flu vaccine or signed declination required; mask required if declining

COVID-19 vaccine is not required; proof or declination accepted

Scrub and mask use may be required based on vaccination status

EKG testing must be passed on the first day

Requirements

Active NY RN license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

AHA NIHSS certification required prior to start

6 stroke-related CEUs required prior to start

Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required

Travel nursing experience required

Must be charge capable

Experience with Allscripts, Paragon, or McKesson preferred
