Description :

Summary : The Planner is responsible for overseeing all planning activities to ensure successful delivery of the product. This position will be responsible for performing tasks and duties associated with product manufacture planning, including producing schedules, material lists, and production plans that include fabrication and assembly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following : others may be assigned :

• Evaluates shortages and manages prompt solutions keeping appropriate stakeholders informed of any potential problem as required.
• Analyzes demand and plans supply in accordance, ensures efficient and quality execution of requirements and purchasing action messages, manages supplier delivery, quality, and cost performance and improvement.
• Ensuring material flow and production activity are aligned.
• Reads and reviews engineering drawings and documentation and coordinate any changes
• Maintains inventory levels to meet company goals
• Supports testing and certification requirements for new programs
• Preserves engineering revision control
• Key User for ERP system; Confirm accuracy of pertinent data in the company ERP system
• Collaborates with stakeholders on lead times, planning items and any related elements
• Performs root cause analysis activities related to planning
• Provide leadership, coaching and / or mentoring to less experienced staff.
• Performs work under minimal supervision
• Handles complex issues and problems, and escalates only the most complex issues to higher level staff.

Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of production planning and / or material planning experience.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Reading : The ability to read, and interpret English documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and reports, drawings and schematics

Writing : The ability to write and / or type all types of correspondence or reports.

Mathematics : Basic knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to analyze figures and basic mathematical skills

Customer Service : Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Reading Comprehension : Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Judgment and Decision Making : Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

Social Perceptiveness : Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.

Physical Demands :

Stand or Sit : Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting) 50 percent or more of the time.

Walk : The person in this position needs to regularly move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Use hands / fingers to handle or feel : Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer) Repetitive movement is also required.

Climb (stairs / ladders) or balance : Occasionally ascends / descends stairs to assist other departments.

Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, or Crawl : The person in this position needs to use these positions to access file cabinets, drawers or other office.

Talk / Hear : The person in this position regularly communicates with other employees and customers via phone or in person.

See : Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust and focus.

Carry Weight, Lift, Push or Pull : Frequently move boxes of files and other boxes containing paper or misc. items. The employee must occasionally lift, move, push, and / or carry up to 25lbs, and rarely lift, move, push, and / or carry up to 50lbs.

Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
