Job description

System Administrator Stellar Science is a small scientific software development company based in Albuquerque seeking an experienced systems administrator to manage and automate complex system infrastructures, development servers, and collaboration tools across Windows and Linux servers and workstations.

The System Administrator will work onsite at our Headquarters in Albuquerque, NM.  Remote work is not supported for this position.  REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE BS in an IT field and 5 years of hands-on experience administering both Windows and Linux systems; or 10 years in lieu of a degree U.S.

Citizen willing to undergo a background investigation Designing and managing multi-server environments, with emphasis on automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Network infrastructure including LAN / WAN, firewalls, routers, and switches Cloud services (Azure, AWS), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and containerization (Podman, Kubernetes, Docker) Active Directory Revision Control with Git or Subversion Storage systems including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage solutions, with focus on scalability and data security Security practices, risk management, and disaster recovery strategies Excellent communication skills EXPERIENCE IN THESE AREAS IS A PLUS CMMC / NIST Policies and Compliance Microsoft Azure GCC / DoD cloud Intune Compliance and Security Multifactor Authentication Systems Systems Configuration Management using Puppet or Ansible SQL database administration Jenkins CI / CD or similar DevOps technologies Security+ certification Active Security Clearance Stellar Science is a forward-thinking business that allows its employees to work at home on occasion when consistent with job requirements.
