Mortgage Underwriting Scenario Specialist

We are looking for a solution-oriented, Mortgage Scenario Specialist to join a dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will support the team with managing the under contract process, supporting the field with scenario support, underwriting escalations, and various other support initiatives within the region. This role requires someone with strong mortgage knowledge, a positive attitude, and someone who thinks outside of the box to get loans closed. Responsibilities :

• Review files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensure completeness of submission.
• Contact the borrower and / or mortgage broker to collect necessary documentation and act as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, and customers. Ensure the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of loan files.
• Monitor the loan pipeline, manage escalations, and dates
• Monitor operational performance / metrics for the department to maximize productivity, efficiency, and compliance levels.
• Build and maintain solid working relationships with Underwriters, Operational, and Sales staff to support the branch on loan production.
• Provide recommendations for new and revised procedures to increase efficiencies and / or decrease errors.
• Respond to escalated issues that cannot be resolved by teammates; assist with complex loans, provide support on scenarios / pre-qualifications when needed, etc.
• Oversee achievement of standards, risk management, quality control, and adherence to policy and procedure.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and changing regulations and guidelines related to the field of expertise; make recommendations for changes to policy, practice, and process accordingly.
• Manage the Under Contract Process. Qualifications :
• 3-5 years of mortgage experience.
• Prior experience in a lead position preferred.
• Active state-specific NMLS license is required.
• Expert-level knowledge of mortgage business, including overall mortgage lending processes and internal controls, as well as federal, state, and regulatory requirements / guidelines; valid documentation related to processing mortgage applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organized.
• Works with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
• Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service.
• Demonstrated patience and professionalism when interacting with both internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with data entry, PDF software programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Ethical, with a commitment to company values. Compensation : $80,000+ DOE

Compensation : $80,000 per year
