American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring multi-ICU experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma Center and a WI or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Critical Care Float pool within a hospital settingFloat between adult ICUs, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, as well as IMC / Progressive / General care units as neededPosition requires working evening and night shifts, including 8- and 12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Every other weekend and some holidays are requiredTravelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needsEpic EMR experience required and will be used throughout the assignmentProvide nursing care across a variety of critical care and stepdown units as assignedMust be able to identify and interpret lethal arrhythmias and demonstrate competency in telemetryOrientation is typically one week and is required prior to independent practiceStrict pass / fail telemetry testing is required before start, with up to two attempts allowedTravelers may have their assignments adjusted to different units to meet contract requirementsSome units consider first-time travelers; RTO generally not to exceed two weeks per contract\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart AssociationMinimum two years of acute care ICU experience within the last three years in an inpatient settingExperience in an academic Level 1 Trauma Center requiredMust have experience with multiple ICU types including Neuro, Cardiothoracic, Burn, or Trauma SurgeryBasic arrhythmia interpretation skills required; must pass a telemetry exam prior to startingEpic EMR experience required within the last 12 months preferredPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facilityCompletion of at least one previous 13-week travel assignment\n Benefits\n
