Job descriptionWork in the Med / Surg Telemetry unit at an acute care hospital setting Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, orthopedic issues, chest pain, pneumonia, and COPD Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5 Handles treatments such as insulin and Cardizem drips; no ventilator management required Utilizes Epic EMR and Pyxis medication management systems Three 12-hour night shifts per week (19 : 00-07 : 30), with every other or every third weekend required Block scheduling may be accommodated No floating required at this time Responsible for managing adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and telemetry needs First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position Must wear hunter green scrubs while on duty Free parking is provided on site Pre-assignment modules must be completed prior to start, outside scheduled hours Previous core staff must wait 12 months before returning Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers Active MI RN license required at the start of assignment; compact licenses not accepted Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele experience required Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; AHA preferred Proof of high school education required Epic EMR experience preferred; training provided during orientation All requested time off must be submitted with application; maximum 5 days per contract High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
