Overview

CT Rad Tech Float role at Corewell Health. Up to $15,000.00 in incentive for eligible candidates, plus an extra $3.00 per hour premium float pay.

Job Summary : Provides healthcare services, applying cross-sectional CT imaging and all related duties to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Provides appropriate patient care and addresses physiological and socio-cultural needs of patients and their families. Assures equipment is present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift. Assists in and facilitates employee development.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patients' clinical history, ensuring information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
• Completes proper patient identification and order verification. Prepares patients for procedures, provides instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment and accessories as directed. Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Prepares / administers contrast media and / or medications per protocol.
• Evaluates images and data for technical quality, adjusts display parameters, and transfers images to PACS as the permanent patient record with proper patient identification.
• Schedules patients for procedures.
• Assignments are moderately complex; follows established protocols and has some flexibility in exercising judgment within established parameters. May serve as technical specialist / trainer and mentor to less experienced staff.
• Maintains a clean work environment and reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.
