Position Overview
We are currently hiring a Registered Nurse to work in our Medical / Surgical department. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from surgery, dealing with acute illnesses, or managing chronic conditions. As part of a dynamic team, you will deliver nursing care while adhering to the highest standards of safety and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, identifying and reporting any changes to the physician or charge nurse.
- Educate patients and families about their conditions, medications, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and social workers, to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).Licensure : Current Texas RN licensure.Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required.Experience : Prior nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.Skills : Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, effective communication, and a commitment to patient-centered care.Why Work at Uvalde Memorial Hospital?
