Job description

1-800-GOT-JUNK?, the #1 name in junk removal, is looking for a Senior Back End Developer, Mobile, to join our team!

Back-End Development

  • Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js / Next.js and Ruby on Rails .
  • Design and implement server-side logic to support front-end functionality.
  • Optimize backend processes to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.

Collaboration with Stakeholders

  • Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other team members to understand requirements and translate them into backend solutions.
  • Collaborate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring alignment with project goals.

    • Database Management

  • Design and optimize database schemas, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  • Work with relational databases like PostgreSQL and occasionally with NoSQL databases like MongoDB (if required).

    • Code Quality and Performance

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Monitor and improve server performance and scalability to meet business needs.

    • Technical Exploration and Innovation

  • Stay updated on the latest back-end development tools and frameworks, incorporating relevant advancements into projects.
  • Experiment with new approaches to improve the efficiency and reliability of backend systems.

    • Troubleshooting and Support

  • Debug and resolve backend issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Provide maintenance and updates to existing backend services as needed.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of backend development experience, with a focus on building scalable and secure server-side solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of backend frameworks, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and server-side logic.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus.
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and deployment tools is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus.

    • Salary and Benefits

    Salary : $90,000 to $110,000 (based on experience, education & internal parity)
