About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services primarily focused on AI applications across multiple cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, machine learning engineers, and data engineers to deliver robust backend solutions. This is a fully remote position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup environment where innovation and agility are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain reliable, high-performance backend systems to support AI products
  • Design and manage RESTful APIs for communication between frontend and backend services
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to meet project requirements and optimize backend integrations
  • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards
  • Monitor and optimize backend performance, troubleshoot issues, and scale infrastructure as needed
  • Implement security best practices to ensure data protection and regulatory compliance
  • Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) and contribute to continuous integration and deployment pipelines
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex backend issues promptly to maintain uptime

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer
  • Strong proficiency in Python (4+ years) and Flask (2+ years)
  • Proven experience designing and building cloud architectures, preferably in AWS or Azure
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform
  • Familiarity with authentication systems like Auth0 or AWS Cognito, and working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience building multi-tenant and single-tenant platforms
  • Knowledge of deploying and managing backend services using ECS or similar platforms
  • Understanding of DevOps best practices and experience with CI / CD pipelines
  • Exposure to production machine learning or deep learning projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively

    • Preferred

  • Security experience in cloud environments
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate)
  • Frontend experience, preferably with React
