About the Role
We are seeking a licensed therapist to act as a our new Mental Health Coordinator to provide clinical mental health services within a correctional and detention setting, supporting individuals in custody. The ideal candidate will bring compassion, professionalism, and sound clinical judgment to a structured environment focused on treatment and rehabilitation.
This position involves direct, on-site engagement with detainees and close collaboration with multidisciplinary medical and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health screenings and assessments through record reviews and clinical interviews.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client needs.
- Deliver counseling, crisis intervention, and therapeutic services consistent with best-practice standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within health records systems.
- Protect all confidential health information and adhere to professional and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of psychological counseling principles, techniques, and ethics in all client interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution.Active licensure in California as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC (LPCC) .At least 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience.Strong interpersonal, documentation, and crisis management skills.Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass standard background and drug screening requirements.Preferred Attributes
