Entry Level Substation Civil Designer

POWER Engineers, a member of WSP, is currently seeking a Civil Designer / Drafter to perform engineering design activities for electrical substations. This position is in the Power Delivery Northeast Civil / Structural Substation Department, with offices in the following locations : Freeport and Augusta, Maine; Foxborough, Massachusetts; Syracuse, New York, Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Columbus, Ohio. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of one of the offices).

Roles and Responsibilities :

• All aspects of electrical civil design including permitting support, site design, foundation design, structure design, and control building design.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience.
• Preparation of drawing packages to satisfy client and code requirements.
• Occasional travel will be required.
