Contracts Specialist II - Public Transit Department
Join the City of Phoenix as a Contracts Specialist II in the Public Transit Department.
The Public Transit Department provides residents with a variety of transit options and services, including local and commuter buses to alternative transportation for senior citizens and individuals with special needs.
The Contract Specialist II performs advanced administrative work involving writing and administering complex transit service contracts, studying and applying administrative systems, policies, and practices, and contracting for and monitoring private transit service providers.
Responsibilities Include
- Overseeing day-to-day fixed-route operations.
- Preparing performance-related reports and creating data reports.
- Developing, monitoring budgets, expenditures, and budget projections.
- Monitoring / Observing, and data collection and analysis of transit field operation.
- Working with private sector transit managers and professionals from other transit agencies / cities.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrates exemplary customer-service skills.Knowledge utilizing Clever Devices System.Knowledge of transit operations and / or Public Transit industry.Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the Public Transportation industry.Ability to correctly interpret complex laws, regulations, guidelines, agreements, and follow policies and procedures.SALARY
Pay Range : $69,492.80 to $113,193.60 annually. Hiring Range : $69,492.80 to $102,668.80 annually.

Three years of experience working with governmental contracts or experience assisting a contracts administrator in contract preparation.Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.Preferred Qualifications
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus :
Direct contract monitoring and compliance experience.Experience in monitoring transit field operations.Experience conducting transit fleet inspections.Experience engaging both internal and external stakeholders.Experience with developing, interpreting, and analyzing reports.Experience developing and monitoring budgets and expenditures.Experience in contract interpreting; and applying local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.RECRUITMENT DATES
