Position :  Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology (potential to become Tenure Track)

Department :  Biology, School of Sciences

The Department of Biology invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology (potential to become tenure track). This position requires a strong commitment to undergraduate biology education. The ideal candidate should be able to teach upper-level neuroscience, human physiology, and other elective courses that pertain to the candidate's area of expertise, as well as the first-year sequence of freshman biology (both lecture and labs) as needed. This position will be titled Visiting Assistant Professor for a period of one year, at which time the position will be evaluated for transition to tenure-track (the first year will count towards the tenure clock). Ideal candidates should be able to complement our strengths in biology, biomedical science, and neuroscience degrees.

Anticipated Start Date : 1 August 2025.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Teach 12 hours of undergraduate courses in Biology per semester
• Teach lecture and / or laboratory courses based on departmental need. These courses could include Biology courses to meet CBU's General Education requirements as well as upper-level undergraduate courses.
• Show evidence of continued professional development.
• Participate in department activities not limited to advising, mentoring undergraduate research, and occasional orientation activities.
