Med / Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location : Towson, MD 21204 (Baltimore area – Maryland nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Medical / Surgical Telemetry Unit (30 beds)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Start Dates : 12 / 15 / 2025 (13 weeks) or 1 / 17 / 2026 (10 weeks)

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1790 - $1920

Patient Population : Adults and geriatrics

Patient Ratio : 1 : 5

Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday coverage required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry RN experience

Active Maryland or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)

BLS and ACLS (AHA only), NIHSS, and CPI certifications required

Epic charting experience preferred

Ability to float within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed

References : 2 satisfactory professional references (1 supervisor / manager and 1 charge RN)

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Must reside at least 50 miles from facility

First-time travel nurses welcome!

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as CHF, chest pain, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, post-amputation, small bowel obstruction, Afib / dysrhythmias, cancer, and palliative care needs

Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (non-titratable), and perform EKGs

Utilize specialized medical equipment including IV pumps, oxygen, pulse oximeters, SCDs, bed / chair alarms, chest tubes, and Foley catheters

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response

Float to Medical / Surgical and Telemetry units as needed

Participate in self-scheduling and provide coverage for weekends and holidays as scheduled
