Production Superintendent
The Production Superintendent (IPW area) is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production while meeting quality, environmental, and cost standards. The Superintendent will manage a team of operators, coordinate maintenance priorities, and drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily plant operations, monitoring processes and making adjustments to meet safety, quality, and production targets.
- Lead, supervise, and coach operators through daily instructions, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Prioritize maintenance activities, ensuring safe work setup and coordination with supporting teams.
- Promote a safe work environment through strong housekeeping practices and operator-driven safety initiatives.
- Prepare reports and communicate effectively within and across departments.
- Improve, update, and create operating procedures to support plant efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Process Safety Management (PSM), ISO, GMP, and other safety / quality standards.
- Develop and manage hourly workforce schedules in alignment with production demands and contract requirements.
Experience and Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.5-10 years of relevant chemical or industrial plant experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.Proven ability to direct teams and resources to achieve operational results.Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to apply procedures and standards effectively in complex situations.Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.Physical Requirements :
Work outdoors in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, vibration).Perform field activities : walk long distances, climb ladders, carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work in confined spaces or at heights.Frequent repetitive motions and occasional fine hand work; operate vehicles and tools.Work around heavy equipment while wearing required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, boots, hard hat, hearing protection, respirator).Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.Location : Kalama

In accordance with Washington state requirements, the established pay range for this position is Min : $107,800 to Max : $179,600. Actual starting pay will depend on experience, skills, and budget for this role.
