About The Position

Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse for a 13 week contract in Ukiah, CA with the strong possibility of renewal. This role is essential for providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum processes.

Scenic and Beautiful area! Close to the CA Coast and Redwoods.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, adhering to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios.
• Assist in triage within the L&D unit, utilizing one of the L&D rooms as a triage area.
• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health throughout the labor process.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for laboring mothers and newborns.
• Administer medications and titrate drips as necessary, including Pitocin, Magnesium, insulin, and TXA.
• Educate patients and families about the labor process, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Stabilize newborns when necessary and manage care for term and late preterm infants in the nursery.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
