Overview

Join to apply for the AP English Literature and Composition Tutor role at Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company . The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform has thousands of students looking for online AP English Literature and Composition tutors nationally. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Tutor remotely using our purpose-built Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
  • Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
  • Use the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
  • Manage your tutoring sessions and invoicing; we handle payments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to earn up to $40 / hour with the same student.
  • Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions conducted and invoiced.

    • Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in AP English Literature and Composition and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
