Position : Saw Filer Superintendent
Reports to : Site Maintenance & Reliability Manager
Position Overview :
The Saw Filer Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing the saw filing department, ensuring saws and related equipment are maintained to the highest standard. This role will supervise the filing team, coordinate maintenance schedules, and work closely with mill operations to maximize production efficiency, equipment reliability, and safety.
Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership, training, and direction to the saw filing team.
- Oversee sharpening, repair and replacement of saws, knives, and related equipment.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules for all filing room machinery.
- Ensure proper machine alignment and performance to support efficient production.
- Monitor saw and knife performance, implementing improvements where needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized filing room environment.
- Collaborate with mill management and production teams to minimize downtime and improve throughput.
- Enforce safety protocols, policies, and quality standards.
- Manage department resources, supplies, and budgeting as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
