• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)\n
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)\n
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent bedside clinical experience in a hospital setting; 2 years preferred\n
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills\n
• Ability to supervise and direct LPNs, CNAs, and orientees\nMed / Surg RN Responsibilities\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients following individualized care plans\n
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission\n
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR\n
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and patient care planning\n
• Coordinate discharge planning and deliver patient / family education\n
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety protocols\n
• Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff\n
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare team members\n
• Support team building and contribute to a positive work environment\n
• Assume charge nurse duties as needed after orientation\n
