Job description

Overview

Trade Application Support Engineer – Hedge Fund – New York. The role supports full trade lifecycle processes including startup, live trading system monitoring and triage, outages, data cleanliness, reporting, and trade analysis. Works closely with portfolio managers, software / network / systems engineers, and various operations teams. Hybrid working model – New York office.

Responsibilities

Live trade lifecycle monitoring and management with attention to follow-up tasks and postmortems
Post-trade processing and resolving trade settlement issues in a timely manner
System integration with development teams and external counterparties
Software deployment
Client reporting support
Investment and operational projects as needed
Ownership of production footprint, identifying system improvements, automating daily tasks, and documenting workflows

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with low latency market data and order management systems (internal or third party)

Working knowledge of FIX trading protocol

Technical proficiency with Python, Linux, SQL, Excel, AWS; ability to debug scripts and code

DevOps experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Bitbucket, Jira; Docker is a plus

Strong analytical and detail-oriented with high accuracy; excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to manage time, set priorities, meet deadlines, and mentor junior members

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

Awareness of production alerts and adherence to SLA remediation

Experience with low latency trading platforms and integration using FPGA, microwave networks, multicast and point-to-point connections

Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Zabbix, PagerDuty

Experience with job scheduling frameworks (e.g., Redwood RunMyJob, Cron)

Ability to troubleshoot network, authentication, and file transfer issues; familiarity with AWS STS and S3

Ability to work independently and automate daily tasks in Bash and Python

Compensation

Base pay range : $150,000.00 / yr - $190,000.00 / yr; Up to $190,000.00 base + $110,000.00 bonus + benefits. Hybrid working model – New York office.
