Security Screener Position

The Security Screener ensures the safety and welfare of the assigned division in the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office by using developed programs to deter and limit opportunities for contraband to be brought into a facility. The Security Screener performs security and screening services, operational functions, and limited administrative duties related to maintaining the security and safety of assigned facilities and personnel, as well as all clients and the general public. This position works under general supervision.

Working conditions :

Work occurs primarily indoors and requires interacting with all levels of personnel, and the public. Tasks require sitting or standing for long periods, while managing constant interruptions and time pressures. Responsibilities require ethical conduct and a professional demeanor.

Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques used in security, including security awareness.
