Endocrinology Physician

Position Overview

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Endocrinologist for a 6-month locum tenens assignment. This role offers a full-time outpatient schedule with the opportunity to manage a diverse adult endocrinology patient panel. Providers will also share call responsibilities, ensuring continuity of patient care.

Assignment Highlights

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM (first patient at 8 : 20 AM)

Call Coverage : Every 3-4 months (discussed further in interview)

On call days, provider will not be scheduled for clinic patients

Unit Type : 100% adult endocrinology

Support : Experienced nursing staff, diabetes education, nutrition counseling program

Skills & Experience

MD or DO degree; Board Certified / Board Eligible in Endocrinology

Active VA medical license (or in process at time of submission)

DEA and CSR required

Experience managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin pumps

Strong communication and patient counseling skills

Proficiency with EMR and medical technology
