Job Description AECOM is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to be based in Sacramento, California, at the heart of one of the nation's most critical water infrastructure regions. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to help shape California's water future while supporting a diverse portfolio of challenging water projects with a special emphasis on dams, levees, and tunnels. This position combines technical excellence with strategic leadership, offering significant growth potential and the chance to make a lasting impact on infrastructure that serves millions of Californians. Job Responsibilities : + Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- to large-size projects. + Develops technical client relationships and plays a role in selling. + Leads discipline department efforts to grow technical expertise. + Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. + Approves and signs off on work products. + Leader in one or more areas of technology. + Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on complex projects. Qualifications Minimum Requirements : + Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education. + Active California PE License. Preferred Qualifications : + 15+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience. + Experience performing geotechnical engineering for Water / Wastewater and Conveyance projects. + Plans, Specifications, and Estimates package creation. + Project Management experience. + Active California GE License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
