Machine Driller

The position of Machine Driller at Aerospace Machine & Supply (AMS) is responsible for custom precision drilling of extruded metal at an AS9100 certified Aerospace Manufacturing Facility.

We are looking for a detail-oriented self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and know the day-to-day workings of their tools and machines inside and out. Experience in lathe machining and drilling is preferred. AMS will train candidates with relevant experience.

Role and Responsibilities :

• Performs routine deburring and simple clean-up on materials per instruction from the Production Manager and / or Quality Manager.
• Performs custom precision-drilling on extruded metal.
• Has experience and expertise with hand tools, including but not limited to : hand drills, grinders, and files.
• Has the ability to remain standing for several hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Monitors product quality through regular inspection intervals.
• Troubleshoots and corrects minor problems.  Replaces assigned tooling as needed (i.e., drills, taps, etc.).
• Performs manufacturing tasks (i.e., cleaning product).
• Records data on production documents and ensures all documentation is accurate and complete (i.e., part numbers, revisions, quantities produced, run hours, etc.)
• Maintains a clean work area (work surfaces and floors).
• Knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Has the ability to interpret and understand technical drawings and inspect parts.
