Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience and active licensure to provide inpatient therapy services in a large hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute inpatient hospital environment on the first floor Occupational Therapy unitTypical caseload is 8-10 patients per day, supported by a team of 8-12 therapistsServe diverse patient populations including neurologic (CVA, MS, Parkinson, Guillain Barre), cranial and spinal surgeries (no TBI), general medical, orthopedic, cardiac, and oncology casesCoverage includes all medical floors, PACU, and ED; ICU not requiredFloat to other area hospitals within a 20-mile radius may be required, though infrequentlyEMR used is Epic; relevant experience preferred4 variable 10-hour day shifts per week, with six weekend days per schedule and every other full weekend or one weekend day per weekTypical diagnoses include neurologic, orthopedic, cardiac, and oncology; no transplant or TBI patientsNo blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests allowedSystem and department orientation provided over the first 3-5 days, including documentation trainingRehab Aides are part of the support team; no COTAs on staffScrubs of any color or business casual attire are acceptedFirst-time travelers will be consideredPermanent employees must wait one year before reapplying as a traveler50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this distance are not eligibleRequirements
Active and current Occupational Therapist license required if applicableMinimum 1 year of acute care experience as a licensed OTCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience with Epic EMR preferredSubmission requires a driver’s license, two professional references (one supervisor within 12 months, one peer or supervisor within 3 years), and state license verification (pending not accepted)Benefits
