Medical Assistant

Overview

The Medical Assistant is accountable for the provision of care as delegated according to the policies, procedures and standards of the Medical Center. The Medical Assistant will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts. Graduate of approved program Medical Assistants.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION :

This position is a designated as "Safety Sensitive Position" under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients / customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physician / Nurse Practitioner with patient assessment, examination and procedures
• Will primarily be assisting vascular surgeons and clinic
• Collects patient data such as history, height, weight, vital signs, and medical history before the physician examines patient.
• Enters all necessary patient information in computer as follows :
• Scans medical records into computer approximately one year prior, or, as far back as Physician requests
• Copies all lab results and electronic medical records as soon as possible
• Referrals should be completed within 24 hours (after completion these should be scanned into the computer)
• Prior Authorizations for insurance prior to first visit
• Phone calls should be returned by the end of the day
• Performs other allowable duties as assigned by Clinic Manager or Director, which may include assisting in other areas of clinic operations when not performing primary duties
• Maintains consistent chart records
• Demonstrates advocacy for patients and staff
• Participates in activities that promote personal and professional development
• Assist at satellite clinics, as needed

Qualifications

MA Diploma preferred

Clinical Experience Required

Excellent communications skills, verbal and written

Basic Computer Skills

Ability to Multi task and handle busy and stressful situations

Adhere to dress code, conduct and attendance polices of Medical Center
