Premier Medical Staffing Services is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Pheonix, Arizona.

Job Description & Requirements

HIGHLIGHTS :

  • 2 years ICU experience required in large (450+) Level 1 Trauma experience required MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXP
  • 3-6 months travel experience required
  • Required Certs BLS, ACLS
  • Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience
  • External Ventricular Drains .
  • 50 mile radius rule, DL is source of truth, please include with submission, no local rates
  • Floating : Required to float between all ICU floors, and all Tele Units. Will get a patient load of 4 : 1 on tele. 1st to float
  • 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, holidays based on unit coverage

  • CAN BE FLOAT TO MS TELE / TELE FLOORS
  • EMR Cerner
  • Charge Nurse Yes, does not take patients
  • Scrub Color Any color or print (non-offensive) - STEEL GREY FOR NEURO FLOORS
  • Tele Phillips monitors
  • Vents Yes

    • ADDITIONAL DETAILS :

  • DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts, if failed, DNU for 6 months with CS AZ and Sac Region
  • Travel Teams must have their own vehicles
  • must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
  • men must clean shave for fit test
  • pass fail exam on day 1 of orientation - details to follow
  • DAY 1 PASS FAIL EXAM : STUDY GUIDE PROVIDED WIH FDI
  • SIMs Lab : All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED. NyICU only has to do Foley catheter insertion. ED does Foley catheter insertion but does port-a-cath insertion instead of central line dressing change. This is for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus & / or St. Joseph Westgate campus
  • NOTE - SIMs lab is pass / fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field. Those travelers that understand sterile field typically pass SIMs Lab skills (See separate notes for the specific checklist IF traveler asks for additional details). The hospital expects that every nurse is competent in these areas, especially maintaining sterile field, as these are nursing skills that are performed frequently
  • NOTE : if a candidate indicates that they are not competent in either of these areas, they are probably not a good fit. In addition to SIMs Lab, they will also go through lifts, restraints, & wound care, but these are just educational based since the equipment & policies can be different facility to facility
