American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift SCU / Telemetry position requiring a WV or compact RN license and at least two years of ICU or telemetry experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Perform nursing duties in a 10-bed SCU / Telemetry unit with 5 ICU and 5 telemetry beds in an acute care CAH settingNight shifts from 7pm to 7am with a full-time schedule of 36 hours per weekRotating weekends and holiday shifts are required according to the unit's scheduleTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3-5 based on acuityUnit serves patients with conditions including trauma, bowel obstructions, COPD, overdoses, and vented COVID casesUtilizes Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is advantageousPhillips cardiac monitors, ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment are usedMonitor techs are present in the ICU at night; RT support is available 24 / 7Travelers may occasionally float to MedSurg with assignment ratios of 1 : 5-6, but this is rareOne shift unit orientation with a preceptor is providedMaintain a positive attitude and strong willingness to work as a team memberHospitalist coverage is available onsite during the day, with family medicine residents after hoursNo IV team; nurses should be comfortable managing IV-related tasks independentlyTravelers must provide neat and clean navy blue scrubs; jackets in navy, grey, or black allowed (no hoodies or sweat jackets)Hair must be a natural color and excessive or inappropriate tattoos must be coveredAll returning candidates must have a two-year break from previous employment at any WVU Medicine location or as a traveler within the systemFirst-time travelers are acceptedHoliday coverage is required as part of the permanent staff rotation\n \n Requirements\n
