- Consistently follows established nursing standards and implements facility protocols while interpreting policies for staff, residents, and families.\n
- Communicates effectively by obtaining thorough reports during shifts and ensures all relevant information is shared with the incoming nursing staff.\n
- Conducts regular resident rounds, oversees the care provided by nursing assistants and LPNs, and reports significant changes in resident conditions to the appropriate personnel swiftly.\n
- Supervises and evaluates nursing care, coordinates assignments for nursing assistants, and clearly explains procedures to ensure resident care is prioritized.\n
- Provides clinical oversight for certified nursing assistants and verifies assessments made by licensed practical nurses.\n
- Competently performs essential nursing skills, including medication administration, maintaining compliance with all relevant policies and protocols.\n
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of each resident, develops tailored care plans, and actively participates in care conferences.\n
- Ensures accurate documentation of treatments, medications, and resident conditions in compliance with regulatory standards.\n
- Evaluates the performance of nursing staff, providing constructive feedback and participating in the employee evaluation process.\n
- Maintains emergency equipment and reports any incidents or accidents promptly while observing infection control practices diligently.\n
- Engages positively with residents, families, and colleagues, exemplifying teamwork, punctuality, and professionalism at all times.\n
- Acts as a chaperone for patients as needed during appointments and procedures involving sensitive examinations.\n\nQualifications\n
- Education : Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related science preferred.\n
- Experience : At least one year of work experience in rehabilitative, psychiatric, or geriatric nursing is preferred.\n
- Licensure : Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut.\n
