Scope of Job : Oversees and manages the organization and supervision of all logistical aspects of the assigned sport team within the parameters designated by the University, Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Description of Duties :
Supervision Received : General supervision from assigned sport coach.
Supervision Given : Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Preferred Education : None.
Licenses / Certifications : As condition of employment this position requires the applicant to be authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for Official University Business.
Required Experience : Two (2) years of related experience.
Preferred Experience : Experience in collegiate level and / or professional level sport operations, coaching or administrative experience. Experience with Division I athletics.
Equipment Use : Use of standard office equipment, personal computer, and audio / visual equipment.
Working Conditions : Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Long and varied hours. Office / Game day environment. Frequent weekend and evening activities. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Other : Position requires high ethical standards and incumbent must exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, university and departmental rules and regulations as well as a solid commitment to academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, and any applicable NCAA standards. Understand that violation(s) of NCAA rules could result in sanctions being placed against the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University. Possess excellent organizational skills, be self-driven and have great attention to detail. Must be able to perform under deadlines and handle a wide variety of projects simultaneously. Ability to interact effectively with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public. Mileage used on personal vehicle will be compensated at the state rate.
