Job Description
If you’re passionate about being a therapist but hate dealing with insurance, marketing, and administrative issues, this may be a great opportunity for you! Silver River Counseling of Ocala provides a steady flow of referrals, billing and administrative support, as well as superior compensation, allowing our therapists to concentrate on doing what they love.
If you are a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW ), or a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT ), Silver River Counseling is looking for a highly motivated individual who shares our philosophy that the health of a community flows from the strength and vitality of its family relationships, and that counseling is the best way to restore and protect lasting family connections.
However you define family, our growing practice offers services to children, adolescents, and adults striving to live their best lives. Whether individual counseling for anxiety disorders and depression, trauma and abuse, behavioral issues at school or home, eating disorders, parent-child relationship stress, couple’s counseling for relationship distress / separation / divorce / grief and loss issues, or family therapy to improve everyone’s connections with one another, Silver River Counseling serves families.
We understand that many therapists struggle to find a place to work where they don’t feel like a cog in a machine…Where they’re EXPECTED to see 30 clients a week…Where the effects of burnout and isolation are constant…Where they once had a vision of creating a healing and therapeutic space with their clients, now it just feels like a job. Worst of all, the general lack of respect for our education, training & experience often leaves many talented young clinicians with the choice between dependence on inconsistent and maddeningly poor reimbursement rates from the insurance industry, (assuming they can even get on the panels), or leaving the profession and the dream of being a healer behind in search of something that can generate more income.
At Silver River Counseling we not only provide a space for clients to find healing, but also a place where our clinicians can work in a team environment, get paid well, and foster professional and personal growth.
So who are we really looking for? Requirements :
What we expect of our clinicians and what the day-to-day looks like :
Punctuality and communication is imperative. Your job is as simple as coming in on time, seeing your clients for their 50 minute clinical hour, then taking the last 10 minutes for scheduling, progress notes, and treatment planning. Silver River Counseling has an excellent reputation because of the level of dedication our therapists have toward their work add a personal touch to the services they provide.
Key Characteristics of Clinicians :
The primary characteristics of the ideal candidate to join our practice are the same as those that make any team of individuals excel in their field : Someone who recognizes their individual goals can be achieved by and through the support of the team.
At Silver River Counseling, we want our clinicians to be enthusiastic about staying with us for the long haul, therefore, it is in our best interests to help you achieve your financial and professional goals. So, if you value building supportive connections and mutual accountability with colleagues, are hungry to grow and willing to occasionally stretch to reach new heights, and are a natural at practicing what we preach as clinicians regarding emotional intelligence, then Silver River Counseling is the right place for you!
What we want you to know about compensation & benefits :
All of our therapists are in the top 10 percentile for income in comparison to other counselors in their field. We do not offer benefits, but one day we hope to. We've found most of our clinicians are on their family's plan but if we get enough people to go for it, I'm happy to add it. Clinicians are 1099's and are considered independent contractors.
Once onboard, our expectation is 25 client hours of open availability with a minimum of 20 clinical face to face hours, averaging 25+ per week. We will work with you to develop your “ideal client profile” so we tailor your marketing to the kinds of clients you have a passion for serving.
You are paid per client seen. We encourage applicants to take this into consideration when applying for this position. While it may be slower for the first couple of weeks, we have a very successful marketing process. This typically results in 20 clients per week within 2-3 months. This is heavily dependent on your availability.
Compensation :
We offer a competitive and incentivized monthly wage split structure :
40 / 60 until the first $2,500.00 is earned. (40% to the therapist, 60% to the practice.)
60 / 40 from there forward. (60% to the therapist, 40% to the practice.)
Bonus : 65 / 35 for clinicians who see an average of 25+ clients a week each month.
Examples :
Clinician 1 sees an average of 23 clients per week per month (60 / 40 split).
1st $2,500.00 split = $ 1,000.00 to the clinician.
Above $2,500.00 = $ 7,608.00 to the clinician.
Total =
Clinician 2 sees an average of 27 clients a week per month (65 / 35 split).
1st $2,500.00 split = $ 1,000.00
Above $2,500.00 = $ 9,958.00

Extra goodies we offer our clinicians :
Some things for you to consider before applying :
We want clinicians who are looking to join us for the long haul. Because of the significant investment in each clinician, we do require you to sign a one-year non-compete for the city of Ocala and Marion County if you are hired, which will only be activated after you’ve been employed for 45 days. This is the probationary period where we all have the opportunity to see if we’re a good fit for each other, which is extremely important for the preservation of the team.
Finding the best fit for our practice is important to us - so finding a workable and enjoyable schedule is something I'd like for you to achieve. Some clinicians choose to work 4 days a week and see 6-8 clients in a row. Others work 5 days a week with 4-7 clients a day. Plan to see a minimum of 20 clients a week and the maximum is really up to you.
We have found that evenings and Saturday mornings are the most sought out session times for couples and right after school for children and teens. If filling your caseload as quickly as possible is your priority, it is highly recommended that you dedicate at least two or three nights a week (at least until 7 pm), and Saturday morning. Office space is available seven days a week.
We invite you to apply and eagerly await your application! Interested candidates can apply and learn more at www.silverrivercounseling.com
