Job Summary

The Controls Engineer position is responsible for maintaining and improving manual to highly automated assembly and test equipment in a predominantly automotive emission control component manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team-based environment.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and improving automation systems, tools, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Providing safe and efficient work areas.
  • Problem solving, root cause analysis, and development of action items.
  • Supporting production to achieve OEE goals and scrap reduction targets.
  • Providing technical leadership in supported areas.
  • Assisting in new product line launches.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or other applicable engineering field.
  • 7+ years of experience in automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Expertise in CAD, including 2D and 3D modeling and assemblies.
  • Expertise in PC / PLC programming, robotics, or other machine control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including knowledge of FMEA & SPC.
  • Project management skills, including strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding, welding, or winding equipment.

    • Location and Travel Requirements

    This role is based in Lexington, OH, but will require travel to support program launch activities as necessary.
