Position :  MD Medical Provider

Location : Person County Jail  and Caswell County Jail Medical Unit

Schedule : Just 4   hours per week — flexible weekdays. No weekends. No hospital rounds.

Southern Health Partners is hiring a part-time medical provider to deliver essential on-site care in a safe, controlled jail medical unit. Ideal for semi-retired clinicians, independent practitioners, or providers who want meaningful work — without a heavy time commitment.

What you’ll do

Provide brief on-site medical services and clinical oversight for the inmate population.

Review nursing treatment plans and medical documentation.

Prescribe and manage medications; make outside referrals when needed.

Co-sign orders and charting as required.

Offer clinical guidance and be available for on-call consultation with SHP nursing staff.

Must-haves

Active, unrestricted license (MD Medical Doctor)

Ability to pass background checks and obtain facility security clearance.

Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently.

Prior correctional healthcare experience is a plus — but not always required.
