About the Role

The Venue Manager Assistant will support the management and execution of events at The Monroe in West Des Moines. This role is hands-on, guest-focused, and essential to ensuring a seamless event experience from setup to teardown.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and execution of events, ensuring each setup aligns with client expectations and venue standards.
• Create and manage detailed room layouts, floor plans, and event timelines.
• Schedule and supervise bartenders, security, cleaning staff, maintenance, and venue assistants.
• Lead transitions between ceremony and reception setups, where applicable.
• Manage alcohol inventory, weekly ordering, and general venue supply procurement.
• Ensure the venue is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors on event days and provide exceptional client service throughout each event.
