Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure the safety and security of our campus community through regular patrols, monitoring systems, and responding to incidents. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe environment and fostering a positive atmosphere for participants, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols of campus grounds and facilities to monitor for suspicious activity, identify safety hazards, and ensure proper security measures are in place
• Collaborate with and mentor team members, adapting communication styles and providing patient guidance and support as needed
• Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services during incidents requiring outside assistance
• Provide assistance to participants, staff, and visitors, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment
• Participate in required safety training and maintain certifications, including CPR and First Aid
• Support crowd control during campus events and enforce special instructions for large gatherings
• Monitor and operate surveillance systems, alarms, and emergency response systems, responding swiftly to alerts and irregularities
• Respond promptly to emergencies or security breaches, following campus safety protocols, and reporting incidents to campus management or appropriate authorities
• Maintain detailed logs and reports of security-related events and actions taken during patrols or incidents
• Assist with emergency preparedness by coordinating drills and ensuring campus members understand safety protocols
