CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR / PROJECT MANAGER

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is seeking a competent Estimator / Project Manager with substantial experience in site development to lead the estimating and management of land development projects. This includes residential subdivisions, commercial site pads, public works, and infrastructure improvements involving earthwork, underground utilities, stormwater systems, grading, and paving. This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of both cost estimating and project execution in the civil construction field.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating Duties

• Review site plans, grading, utility drawings, geotechnical reports, and specifications.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and assist in contract negotiations.
• Maintain estimating database and unit pricing based on historical costs.

Project Management Duties

Working Conditions

Office Environment and travel to construction sites (where PPE will be required), pre-bid meetings, and client sites

Working Hours / Expectations

This is a salaried position, and the hours and demands are based on the job workload. There is an expectation for someone who can be a self-starter and work independently. The base starting times could range from 6 AM to 8 AM, depending on workload, deadlines, and client demands, and can vary from day to day.
