Truck Driver
Internal Posting ONLY! Operates a government provided truck in support of GSFC. Duties and Responsibilities
Performs operations maintenance in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Notifies Dispatcher of any mechanical problem or body damage
Loads / unloads packages onto trucks, forklifts and other equipment in a manner that protects the material from damage
Operates assigned truck to pick-up and deliver material, supplies, packages, equipment, etc., both on and off the GSFC facility
Obtains work assignments, required signatures, completes related paperwork documenting the pick-up / delivery, returns paperwork to Dispatcher
Notifies Dispatcher if delivery is refused or not delivered and of reason for refusal or inability to deliver
Operates a forklift to assist in unloading and loading trucks
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
Two years' experience operating trucks comparable to those operated on this project
Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with applicable endorsements as required by position
Must present a current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) issued by a certified medical provider listed on the National Register of Certified Medical Examiners
Subject to pre-employment and ongoing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks to confirm a safe driving history
Must pass a DOT-compliant pre-employment drug screen and participate in an employer-administered drug and alcohol testing program, which includes :
Must consent to a full query of the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse prior to hire, and to annual limited queries during employment
Must report any CDL suspensions, disqualifications, or convictions for traffic violations in accordance with Federal regulations
Must know and follow state and federal commercial vehicle regulations enforced by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Department of Transportation
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a current forklift operator's license or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment
Must possess basic computer literacy skills to include the use of the internet and Microsoft office programs (Outlook and Word)
Sensitive equipment training and certification may be required for handling and moving Program Critical Hardware (PCH)
Physical Demands and Working Conditions Ability to operate material handling equipment. Capable of lifting packages up to 70 pounds. Ability to stoop, bend, push, and pull. Ability to pass a GSFC Forklift Operator's physical.
Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance throughout employment.
