About The Role BioSpace is seeking a Director, Strategic Content to lead client-facing content initiatives. This highly visible role is critical to the growth of our creative services department (BioSpace Insights), responsible for shaping and executing thoughtful content strategies that deliver measurable impact for our clients.
Working closely with our customer success, marketing and sales teams, you will produce high-quality, informative and engaging content. This includes writing and editing articles, hosting and editing podcasts, moderating discussions and leading live webinars and in-person events.
You will also help elevate BioSpace’s own brand through thought leadership and earned media, representing us at events, gaining industry insights, expanding our network and generating leads.
The ideal candidate is communicative, business-focused and agile, with a critical understanding of the key issues, challenges and opportunities in the biopharma industry.
Responsibilities Working closely with Biospace clients to develop and execute strategic content plans aligned with their goals
Executing creation of multimedia content including articles, whitepapers, podcasts (hosting, scripting, editing), webinars and in-person event moderation
Representing BioSpace at industry events to gather insights, build relationships and generate leads
Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders including analysts, VCs, regulatory bodies, pharma leaders and more
Work cross-functionally with sales, customer success, marketing and editorial teams to ensure smooth project execution and client fulfillment
Identify, recruit and manage freelancers as needed
Requirements 5-10 years applicable journalism, PR, media or communications experience
Deep understanding of the biopharma and / or medtech landscape and its key players, challenges and opportunities
Experience writing and digital publishing; AP style and editing preferred with a firm understanding of grammar, spelling and punctuation
Strong multimedia skills, including podcast and webinar production
Proven ability to develop and cultivate relationships with industry executives, PR agencies, analysts, VCs and other key industry stakeholders
