Proposal Writer

Proposal Writer A. Harold and Associates, LLC is seeking a Proposal Writer. The Proposal Writer will be responsible for administering the proposal processes for assigned opportunities, ensuring configuration management, managing 100% compliant and compelling proposals, as well as providing guidance and assistance to authors/proposal team members. This includes formatting, assisting with writing and editing of proposals, and tracking compliance to ensure all requirements are met. Key success factors include the ability to plan and manage a schedule; commitment to on-time performance; experience developing and managing proposals; management of internal and external resources; coordination of inputs, reviews, and strategy implementation; and problem identification and resolution. The position will support responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and some oral presentations across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, fast learner, have the ability to coordinate and manage proposal meetings and volumes, and responds well to team feedback and critique. This is a full time opportunity located in Jacksonville, FL with remote work opportunities. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the activities involved in the development and revision of proposals (of varying size and complexity)
• Researches and analyzes historical data to support proposals
• Coordinates development and compilation of information from functional departments
• Develops technical and past performance volumes
• Prepares written and oral reports
• Coordinates writers, editors, reviewers, graphic artists, management, and technical subject matter experts
• Develops proposal schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, and writing assignments
• Maintains configuration control of all proposal files, forms, graphics, drafts, reviewers comments, and approvals
• Edits and formats documents
• Participates in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes and develops a Proposal Management Plan
• Creates proposal templates, outlines, compliance matrices, and production checklists
• Conducts proposal kickoff meetings and color reviews
• Produces high-quality content and appearance of the final proposal product and the on-time delivery of the proposal
• Collaborates with the capture team and executive leadership to gain an appropriate understanding of the win strategy and to ensure the response clearly conveys the proper business perspective, key messages, value proposition, and differentiators against our competition
• Identifies, assesses, resolves, and/or escalates issues as needed
• Conducts lessons learned reviews and documents and implements actions to produce process improvement and achieve higher success rates
• Understands company service offerings, experience, and capabilities
• Assists with other duties as assigned, for example: compliance reviews, book check, production support, and review team support

Required Experience/Education:

• A minimum of 2 years of proposal preparation and analysis experience
• We are considering various levels of skills and experience
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Mastery of the English language; writing samples will be requested

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Shipley Proposal Process is preferred
• Prior experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) proposals
• The advanced candidate will be knowledgeable in the areas of Training and Service Support and will bring subject matter expertise relevant to Department of Defense proposals and/or operations
• Prior experience working for a private defense contractor is a plus
